C.anva launches its biggest India campaign yet, celebrating a new era of AI-powered creativity

Meena, Kala and Ma Ka Pa Anand swap criticism for applause in ‘Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga’, a campaign inspired by India’s growing creative confidence India isn’t short on ideas. It’s full of them. Every day, creators, entrepreneurs, professionals and small businesses imagine new ventures, build brands, tell stories and communicate visually. The challenge isn’t creativity – it’s turning those ideas into something meaningful.
That’s the thinking behind Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga, Canva’s biggest brand campaign in India to date. Building on the success of Dil Se Design Tak, which inspired millions to believe that creativity belongs to everyone, Canva’s next chapter is about something even more powerful: helping anyone turn an idea into something they’re proud to share. With Canva’s AI powered features, the distance between imagination and creation has never been smaller.
Brimming with humour, iconic personalities and unmistakably Indian cultural moments, the campaign features Meena, Kala and Ma Ka Pa Anand in the Tamil version, alongside Farah Khan, Raghu Ram and Terrence Lewis in the Hindi version, reimagining television’s beloved reality show judging format with a playful twist. This time, instead of deciding who’s good enough, they’re won over by creators, professionals and entrepreneurs who transform bold ideas into polished work with Canva.
Created for Canva’s fourth-largest and one of its fastest-growing markets globally, Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga celebrates a simple but powerful idea: when creativity becomes easier, more people create.
From “Can I?” to “I Can.”
For two years, Dil Se Design Tak helped reshape the conversation around creativity in India, showing that great design isn’t reserved for professionals – it’s for everyone. As millions embraced creativity, a new question emerged: “I have the idea. Now how do I make it?” That’s where Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga begins.
The campaign shifts the conversation from believing you can create to showing just how effortlessly you can. With Canva AI, people no longer need to learn the language of design, they simply create in the language they already think in, bridging the gap between imagination and execution in seconds.
“India has never had a shortage of creativity. What we’re witnessing now is a shift in who gets to bring that creativity to life. Every day, someone has an idea that could start a business, tell a story, solve a problem or inspire a community. Our role at Canva isn’t to tell people how to be creative – it’s to make sure nothing stands between that spark of an idea and the confidence to share it. That’s why this campaign matters. It celebrates a future where creativity is no longer limited by experience or technical skills, but powered by imagination. And in that future, the best ideas will shape what’s next.” said Chandrika Deb, Country Manager, India, Canva
When the judges run out of criticism
For years, Meena, Kala and Ma Ka Pa Anand have been the faces of judgment on Tamil television, deciding who’s got what it takes. In Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga, they’re finally left with nothing to critique.
As a creator, a busy professional and a small business owner each step forward with a bold “I Can… CANVAAAA!”, hesitation gives way to confidence, and even India’s toughest judges become believers. It’s a playful expression of Canva’s promise: helping anyone turn an idea into something they’re proud to share.
Together, the trio reflects the breadth of Tamil pop culture – Ma Ka Pa Anand’s effortless wit and charm, Meena’s enduring screen presence and warmth, and Kala’s celebrated legacy in dance and television. Each brings a distinct personality that Tamil audiences instantly recognize, making the campaign deeply relatable, culturally rooted and unmistakably local.
Built for the way India creates
At the heart of the campaign are three groups shaping India’s creative economy every day: Creators, Working Professionals and Small Businesses. Different ambitions. Different challenges. One common goal: bringing great ideas to life. Creators want content that keeps pace with their imagination. Professionals need to communicate with impact under impossible deadlines. Small businesses need standout marketing without agency budgets.
Each hero film showcases how Canva AI helps bridge that gap. Magic Video 2.0 transforms ideas into trend-ready videos from a phone. AI-powered Presentations turns a simple prompt into a polished deck, complete with charts. Magic Layers makes professional marketing effortless, while Canva Pro Lite, an AI-first, mobile-first subscription designed and priced specifically for India, puts premium creativity within reach of millions more people.
Beyond the hero films, the campaign showcases Canva’s expanding AI toolkit through short-form creatives featuring Image to Video, Style Match, AI Video Effects, Offline Mode, and Music & SFX Generation, demonstrating how every stage of the creative process is becoming faster, simpler and more intuitive.
A Multi-Platform Approach
Expected to reach more than 450 million internet users, ‘Canva Oda Neenga, Kalakuveenga’ more than doubles the reach of Canva’s previous India campaigns. The digital-first rollout spans YouTube, streaming and audio platforms, social media, outdoor advertising, creator partnerships and community activations, reflecting Canva’s growing presence across Tier 1, 2 and 3 markets.
From hero films shot in Tamil and Hindi to dubbed versions in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali, every element of the campaign is rooted in Indian culture, familiar moments and storytelling that feels unmistakably local.
A new creative partnership
The campaign also marks Canva’s first creative collaboration with independent agency Fundamental.
“Design is intimidating for most of us. Not because we’re short on inspiration. Because we lack the know-how and tools to convert our vision into reality. And that’s exactly where Canva comes in. Our campaign first brings alive the doubts that plague creators, working professionals and business owners and then kills those doubts once and for all. It’s a celebration of the can-do spirit of Canva and the partnership it can provide us all.” said Pallavi Chakravarti – Founder & CCO, Fundamenta
